Virtual appointments can be very beneficial for helping patients recover from pain and injuries. Since there will not be any hands on treatment (manual therapy) on fully remote/virtual patients, rehab exercises and lifestyle modifications will be the major components of remote/virtual care. Thorough and transparent explanations of what the patient is experiencing and how they can manage and overcome their complaint is a primary focus with telehealth. The patient takes a large responsibility in adhering to the treatment plan as they are not relying on a clinician to work on them.

BFR is an innovative rehab/training method that involves applying a tourniquet band to the upper arm or upper thigh regions to occlude venous return. Restricting the blood flow to the arms or legs allows you to achieve the same benefits of high load strength/hypertrophy training, but with low loads. This is a safe treatment method that is well supported with many high quality studies. BFR is excellent for preventing muscle atrophy, rehabbing injuries, exercising with osteoarthritis, and improving strength/hypertrophy.

Being evidence-based includes having positive ethics and values, being patient centered, spending enough time with patients, and staying up to date on current evidence and practice standards. Furthermore, there are many false claims made by chiropractors and the treatments we provide. An evidence-based chiropractor will not create false narratives, but rather make claims based on the quality research available. Additionally, evidence-based chiropractors offer a variety of treatment options and don’t just limit themselves to adjustments.
